Murphy Christmas 2010

We celebrated Christmas Day at my husband’s aunt and uncle’s house for Murphy Christmas (my husband’s mom’s side of the family). The Murphy family has a lot of traditions – picture taking is NOT one of them. But, at the end of the day, most people appreciated the pictures they so willingly let me take. Below are a few of the shots I took during the party.

Davis Christmas 2010

We just had our family Christmas for my mom’s side of the family. It was an emotional party as this year was filled with great joy as well as great sadness. It was good to see everyone this year (especially with the year off from the party last year!), and I was able to get a few pictures. As usual with my family events, most of my pictures are of the kiddos!! Enjoy!

A Very Derby Christmas

I needed a picture of my dog for our Christmas cards so I did a little Christmas photo-shoot with him.  He was quite cooperative and photogenic!  Here are his best pictures!!

Cookie Day 2010

Every year, my family gets together to decorate cookies for Christmas.  It’s a tradition we’ve had as long as I can remember.  My mom, sisters, my mom’s sister, and her daughter/daughter-in-law make roll-out cookies the week before we get together.  The morning of cookie day, we make and color homemade frosting.  We fill frosting guns and decorate our Christmas cut-outs.  We’ve all been doing this for 20 or so years and are passing along the tradition to my sisters’ children, too.  Below are pictures from this family tradition, starting with baking the cookies and ending with every cookie decorated!

A Trip to Huber's Farm

Several weeks ago, Jeff and I decided to go to a farm in southern Indiana (near Louisville, KY) that he frequented as a kid. We tried to make it last year but just couldn’t find the time. Jeff’s parents and I went together to pick out some pumpkins and do some wine tasting, among other things, at the Huber Family Farm this past October.
