Jeff and our German friend, Lukas, had a USA vs. Germany show-down in 2009 at the Deer Creek Triathlon. With it being Lukas’s very first tri, Jeff had an unfair advantage. The pair decided to have a rematch at the 2011 Deer Creek Tri. Lukas, in the midst of his training for Ironman Louisville, and Jeff, taking a relatively “easy” year with mostly shorter triathlons, were more evenly matched this year. Below are the photo highlights from each of the sports.

Memorial Day Weekend festivities this year included the first birthday of my youngest nephew. The frosting was a bit runny in the hot weather at the lake, but that didn’t stop him from enjoying it!

My husband’s cycling team, BSM, competes in various races in the greater Cincinnati area. Below are pictures of the team as well as their cutest fan!
Also while in Louisville for the Derby Festival MiniMarathon and Opening Day at Churchill Downs (see below!), my newest cousin-by-marriage had her baby shower! I made the cake and cupcakes (and obviously took lots of pictures). Enjoy!
